Against this background for the logistics and warehousing industry, the United Kingdom Warehousing Association’s annual conference in the beautiful town of Stratford-Upon-Avon was eagerly awaited and well attended on 7th and 8th March.
Saving Time In Logistics
The event had a great focus on digitalisation and automation giving a glimpse into how the future for warehousing in the UK is shaping up to be. There was an upbeat vibe, stimulating content and interesting exhibits – like a low-profile robot sweeper that can automatically sweep and vacuum 1000 square metres per hour while you’re sleeping.

We caught a few words with the K900 when it was plying the floors of the Crowne Plaza hotel to find out a bit more:
What’s your role in helping Crescent’s customers ‘Create Clean’?
Between me and you, I’ve got a bit of a superpower – because of my low height (35cm!) I specialise in cleaning hard-to-reach spaces and places that others can’t get to like under ASRS (Automated Storage and Retrieval Systems).
What does a typical day look like for you?
I spend 5 hours cleaning 90 minutes recharging so my day’s usually pretty long! It depends on what my customer wants though – some like me to clean at night when the other workers aren’t around and others don’t mind working alongside me in the day
What’s one interesting or unusual fact about you?
I’m super easy to use! As well as an option for mapping an area by driving me around on a remote controller, you can literally just plug me in and I’ll play!
